Every three years, licensed real estate agents are required to obtain 30 hours of Continuing Education (CE) credits and submit those hours to the Ohio Division of Real Estate.
WCAR Hosted Classes
West Central Association of Realtors strives to schedule FREE CE classes for it’s members, at minimum of 10 hours annually to allow members to reach their required 30 hours at no cost.
After each WCAR hosted class, the attendance is reported to the Ohio Division of Real Estate and a class certificate is provided to each student.
Class rosters are submitted to the Division. However, Agents are responsible for retaining their certificates and submitting physical copies to the Division when their licensure is being renewed.
3RD Party Classes
Members completing CE credits outside of WCAR should confirm with the 3rd party that their attendance record was submitted to the Division.
Record Keeping
When a CE course is completed, the person/organization offering the course is responsible for reporting the class roster to the Division of Real Estate and distributing class completion certificates to individual agents.
Each person/organization offering a CE class is responsible for retaining attendance information for six (6) years following the course’s offering.
If a certificate is “lost,” the agent should contact the issuing person/organization about getting a copy of the certificate.
Membership Requirement: Code of Ethics (COE)
COE is required by NAR members every three years. This includes Brokers, licensed agents, and member appraisers. Members obtaining NAR’s Emeritus status are exempt from the COE requirement.
Taking your COE class online? Send us a copy of the certificate to ensure proper records with the National Association of REALTORS.
Current COE Cycle: Cycle #7 January 1, 2022 – December 31, 2024
